Cool ambience

If you are one of those for whom ambience is equally important as the food, ‘The Riverside Bar & Kitchen’, in Whitefield is the perfect place to be.

If you are visiting the place in the evening, the bright yellow lights and the artistic structure will welcome you. The restaurant has a two-floor seating where generally the first floor is mostly reserved for bigger groups and gatherings for occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

There is small pond-like setting around the seating area which adds to the beauty of the place.

The concept of the open restaurant is what this place primarily reflects. While you are embracing the ambience, have a quick look at the menu for starters. It is an elaborate one and serves Continental, Indian and Chinese cuisine.

Order carefully as the quantity is pretty filling and can make you feel stuffed. For starters, if you are looking for an Indian vegetarian dish, ask for ‘paneer lahori’, ‘hara bhara kabab’ or the ‘honey chilli potato’ and ‘murg chakori kabab’ and ‘achari murg tikka’ if you want to taste the non-vegetarian delights.

Their seafood delicacies like ‘Bombay pomfret tawa fry’ and ‘prawns’ are popular picks too. You can choose from the variety of appetisers such as ‘Jal jeera’ or the classic ‘lassi’.

Keeping the main course simple is a good option if you want to explore the dessert section. Ask for a ‘paneer labbabdar’ and garlic ‘naan’. If you want to taste Italian food, ask for a plate of  ‘aglio-e-olio’ pasta. Its light on the stomach and is just perfect for one person.

The dessert section is something to look forward to. The assorted array of desserts include ‘crispy honey noodles with vanilla ice cream’, ‘moong dal halwa’, ‘caramel custard’ and ‘sizzling brownie’.

If you are a chocolate lover, you should try the ‘sizzling brownie’.
The extra bowl of piping hot chocolate and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the chocolate brownie will leave you clean bowled. To say the least, it is a perfect delight after a heavy meal.

Though the prices are a little heavy on the pocket, the delectable food will make it worth every penny.

The presentation of each dish is unusal. However, the service needs to be little faster as the customers can get impatient.

Since it is an open restaurant, it is not a good idea to visit this place on a rainy  day.

The ambience is just perfect for a date night or birthday celebrations. ‘The Riverside Bar & Kitchen’ is located at 101 & 45, Main Road, Whitefield. For details, call 8150040609.
