Gang robs cab driver of valuables

A gang of four men assaulted a cab driver and robbed him of his valuables at Peenya in the early hours of Friday.

Naveen was waiting for customers near Sobha Apartment when the gang arrived in a car around 1 am and demanded a bill from him. When Naveen told them that he did not possess any bills, the irked men assaulted him and robbed him of his cash and mobile phone and escaped. Peenya police have registered a case.

In another incident, four unknown persons robbed a truck driver and a cleaner of valuables at Gautham Nagar in Varthur on Thursday night. 

Woman falls to death

A woman was killed on the spot after she fell from a moving train at the KR Puram railway station on Friday morning.

The identity of the deceased is not known. The victim, said to be around 45 years, attempted to alight the train, before it halted. She lost balance, fell and died on the spot due to injuries. Tattoos on her right hand read Gaddamma and Shivaraju. Police have shifted the body to the Bowring Hospital mortuary.
