The Congress leaders from Tumakuru district on Thursday demanded that G Parameshwara should be allowed to continue as KPCC president till 2018 Assembly polls.

Party MLAs, K N Rajanna and Rafiq Ahmad, Tumakuru MP Mudduhanumegowda and former legislator Venkataramanappa said in a joint press conference that the party should face the next assembly elections under the leadership of Parameshwara and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

The chief minister has fulfilled almost all the promises made by the party during the 2013 Assembly polls.

The state Congress president chief has organised the party successfully ever since he was given the responsibility of leading the party in the state.

A delegation of state party leaders will soon meet the high command in Delhi and urge it to allow Parameshwara to continue as the KPCC president, Rajanna said.
