PU teachers to boycott paper evaluation

Last Updated 03 March 2017, 19:57 IST

Pre-university lecturers are set to boycott the evaluation of II PUC answer sheets in April as their meeting with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Friday on the promised double increment failed.

“The government gave us just one increment against the promised two. The chief minister refused to entertain our requests,” Thimmaiah Purle, president, Karnataka State PU Lecturers’ Association, said.

He continued, “Our initial demand was four increments, but we agreed to two on the government’s prodding last year. The government is now going back on the promise. We will report for evaluation wearing black badges on our hands and later boycott it.” The lecturers will launch their protest at Mahatma Gandhi statue at Anand Rao Circle on Saturday.
