BMTC, Metro disconnect

Many BMTC bus stops are located either ahead of or far beyond Metro stations, depriving passengers quick mobility. Bus passengers need to walk in thick traffic to reach the Metro stations. If BMTC buses could stop in front of Metro stations, it would greatly help passengers.

Traffic violations in Marenahalli
The traffic signal at Marenahalli and the ‘No Right Turn’ sign at the preceding junction of Bangalore Central are a joke as hardly anyone follows them. There is absolute disregard to the rules. The traffic police have never conducted any enforcement drive to penalise the violators here.

Post office short-staffed
The post office at Gaurav Nagar, JP Nagar 7th Phase, has only one staffer to serve all customers, be it for stamps, covers, speed posts or savings deposits. This has increased the waiting time for customers and burdened the staffer. The staff strength needs to be increased.

The sorry state of Bellandur lake
The Bellandur lake is a major breeding ground for mosquitoes and gives off foul smell. Indiscriminate dumping of garbage and filth in the lake is responsible for its sorry state, including the recent fire accident. People must be stopped from polluting the lake.

Pedestrians not safe in Kodihalli
People waiting to cross Manipal Hospital and Wind Tunnel Road junctions are at risk of being knocked down by vehicles coming from all sides at the same time. Though traffic policemen are posted at both the junctions, they seldom try to regulate the unruly motorists. The skywalks at Kodihalli and Total Mall junctions serve little purpose as the pedestrian movement there is negligible.
