Tucked in a busy corner of Indiranagar, ‘Cafe Five One Five’ offers a refreshing spot, away from the hustle and bustle of the street. This cosy eatery located in 515 Colony (which is where it gets its name from) is a perfect place for coffee and conversations.
Started in December last year, the cafe mostly sees youngsters, IT professionals and entrepreneurs visiting the place. Considering that there is free Wi-Fi as well, it is a great place for an informal meeting and to enjoy some tasty affordable food.
Srinivas Vupadrishta, the owner of the cafe, says, “Coming from a hotel management background and having worked for known names in the industry, it was always my dream to start something of my own. My wife has been a pillar of support and has helped me come up with this concept and the cafe.”
The main attraction is the wooden structure of the place which makes it stand out in its neighbourhood. It has an earthy feel and the lighting adds to the warmth of the place. “The ambience of the cafe is what sets us apart and is one of the reasons people are eager to visit us,” says Srinivas. They have a few books and games that customers can indulge in. Srinivas says that it was a conscious decision to have a space for books as both him and his wife are avid readers.
The menu is as elaborate as the ambience and each dish is explained in detail for quick and easy understanding. It is a pocket-friendly place and serves healthy delights.
The unique selection of salads is quite popular among visitors. One can try the classic ‘Sprouts with a twist’ if you want to keep it light or go for the ‘Mediterranean chickpea’ if you wish to keep it healthy and fresh. The parsley and pepper combination is a hit in itself.
If you are in a mood to indulge, ask for their ‘Fully loaded burger’ which is one of their fast-moving items. You can also go for the recent addition — ‘BBQ lamb and cheese’. The succulent patties in the burgers are filling and quite delectable. For all the pasta lovers, go for ‘La tomatina’ if red sauce is your preferred choice, else ask for a plate of the classic ‘Aglio olio’.
Of course, no meal is complete without something sweet, so indulge in the ‘Ferrero rocher cheesecake’ or ‘chocochip muffin’ to satiate your sweet cravings.
