Science congress

Ramaiah Applied Sciences University recently organised the Indian Association of Colleges of Pharmacy’s first ‘Pharmaceutical Science Congress’ programme. Chief guest Dr Ronald T Piervincenzi, chief executive officer, United States Pharmacopoeia (USP), USA, inaugurated the programme.

He said, “The pharmaceutical industry must be well-equipped to face the challenges presented by the health sector worldwide. The many challenges need to be treated with the right medicine at the right time. We are importing most of the medicines from India which shows the capacity of the Indian pharmaceutical industry.” Prof Chinnaswamy, president, Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, Dr B Suresh, president, PCI, New Delhi, and VC, JSS University, Mysuru also addressed the gathering. Dr S R Shankpal, VC, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences; Dr Mathew T Thomos, country director, US FDA, India office and Dr Khanapure, drugs controller, Karnataka, were also present. Dr T K Ravi welcomed the guests and Dr V Madhavan delivered the vote of thanks.
