Dhoni case: Proceedings stayed against 4 magazine staffers
The high court on Monday granted stay on the proceedings against four employees of a magazine who were accused of publishing a photograph of cricketer M S Dhoni depicting as Lord Vishnu.

The petitioners, Chaitanya Kalbag, Suveen K Sinha, Ashish Bagga and Santosh Kushwaha, who were employees of the magazine when the photograph was published, have approached the court seeking quashing of the proceedings against them.

Dhoni was depicted as Lord Vishnu with six hands holding all the products that he endorses in Business Today magazine. A case was booked against him and the editor of the magazine for hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus by holding a branded show in one his hands while being depicted as Lord Vishu on the cover page of the magazine.

The proceedings against Dhoni and the editor was disposed of by the Supreme Court. The other employees who were also booked in the case have now approached the high court.

Justice Anand Byrareddy granted stay on the lower court proceedings against these employees and ordered notice to the complainant, Jayakumar Hiremath.
