The Raja Ravi Varma Heritage Foundationis all set to re-stage the ‘Raja Ravi Varma: Royal
Heritage and Legacy’ exhibition  after the success of the first show held at National Gallery of Modern Art in 2016.

 The exhibition jointly presented by the Foundation and gallery g will open on
the auspicious occasion of ‘Ugadi’ starting from March 29 and will continue till April 5 at gallery g, Lavelle Road. The show is from 10 am to 6 pm daily.

 The week-long show will see on display the most comprehensive exhibition of 130 lithographs from the various Raja Ravi Varma Presses derived from the original paintings of the great artiste, each accompanied with an individual curatorial note.

Sharing her views, Gitanjali Maini, CEO of The Raja Ravi Varma Foundation says, “Since there has been an overwhelming appreciation for the first ever showcasing of the lithograph collection held last year, we decided to re-stage the exhibition for those who might have missed it and for those who want to explore it further.” 

She further adds, “These lithographs printed from 1894 till 1930 enraptured the imagination of Indians and many over the world for over a century.”

The curator and trustee of the Foundation, Ganesh V Shivaswamy will take the Ravi Varma fans through a personalised journey of his lithographs collection at ‘The Collectors Walk’ on April 1, between 4 pm and 6 pm, at the gallery g premises.
Registration is mandatory for ‘The Collector’s Walk’.
