Fissures appear in BJD post civic poll results
After the BJP’s good show in civic polls in Odisha, fissures within the rattled BJD has come out in the open. A day after BJD MP Tathagata Satpathy accused the BJP of trying to engineer a defection in the state’s ruling party, his colleague Jay Panda criticised Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for not taking action against corruption and sheltering tainted powerful people which could have contributed to the outcome of corporation elections.

Pandya tweeted his Op-ed piece in a vernacular newspaper, which was headlined BJD: Time For Introspection with an explanation that what he wrote was ‘something the party president recently said was necessary’.
