Temple priest held for breaking hundi

The Rajarajeshwari Nagar police arrested Mahadevappa (55), a priest at Shanimahatma temple in Chennasandra Colony. On Thursday evening, the priest broke open the hundi and took away Rs 4.16 lakh. He stored the money in his house and on a tip off, the police raided his house and the cash was seized.

However, he is yet to disclose as to which political party and candidate is close to his heart.
In another incident, an unidentified person threw currency notes and fled from the scene after he was spotted by the police in Nandini Layout.

The Nandini Layout police rushed to Parimala Nagar when they were tipped off that an unknown persons was distributing money. The suspect threw Rs 5,000 and fled after he noticed the police. It is not known who had hired him to distribute the money, police said.

The JD(S) candidate of Padmanabhangar ward M Anjappa in a complaint alleged that BJP worker Rajkatte Manju and his friends assaulted him when he tried to prevent them from distributing the money in Gaudanapalya in Padmanabhanagar on Thursday night.
