'It is a clean comedy'

National Award-winning actor Sanchari Vijay is known for his exemplary performances in films like ‘Naanu Avanalla...Avalu’, ‘Oggarane’, ‘Killing Veerappan’ and ‘Cinema My Darling.’ His latest venture titled ‘Nanna Magale Heroine’ is no different and will see him essay the role of a film director.

Vijay says that he decided to take up the character because it is his first full-fledged comedy film. “I have directed a few comedy-based plays during my theatre days but this is the first time that I am working in a comedy film. I was a little apprehensive at first, but I realised that the director has woven the script so well that none of the comedy scenes seemed out of place,” says Vijay.

He also adds that there is nothing vulgar in the movie. “It is a clean comedy. It’s a film that the family can watch together,” he adds.

Vijay informs that ‘Nanna Magale Heroine’ is a multi-starrer and has some of the best actors from the Kannada film industry.  “Every single actor for this project has been handpicked and they have a prominent role to play. This has added to the experience of working in this film,” he adds.

Vijay will also be seen in a three-shaded character in the Kannada-Tamil bilingual film titled ‘Phirangipura’. He portrays three different shades in the movie.

“In the first scene, I appear as a young boy, then I move onto middle age and the last scene wil see me play an old man. The story traces the life of a man who travels from Bengaluru to Rajasthan and the events that occur along the way.”

In another project titled ‘Krishna Tulasi’, Vijay plays the role of a visually-impaired person. “There are a lot of challenges involved in portraying the role of a visually-impaired person, who doesn’t let his handicap get in the way of leading a normal life. I learnt a great deal in the process,” says Vijay.  He says that most of the stories that are written around the visually-impaired try to bring in sympathy. But here we have attempted something unique,”he adds.
