Clips of metro station screen showing porn goes viral

Some commuters of the Delhi Metro were in for a surprise when one of the LED screens at the busy Rajiv Chowk station, meant to run advertisements, played a pornographic clip on April 9.

A few commuters captured the incident on their phones and the videos have gone viral on social media, prompting the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to order an inquiry.

The DMRC’s statement said that the LED screens are meant for advertisements, and that the job of running the ads was given in contract to a third party.

Still in testing stage
The statement also said that the job is still in the testing stage.

“The work is still not complete. We will check the details of the testing and the commissioning process of the contractor to see whether any such clip was played on the LED screen at Rajiv Chowk station and take adequate safeguards /action,” DMRC spokesman Anuj Dayal said.

The Rajiv Chowk Metro Station, located at Connaught Place in central Delhi, falls on the intersection of the Blue Line and Yellow Line of the metro network, and witnesses heavy footfall daily.
