20% SSLC evaluators absent on Day 1

About 20% of 68,567 evaluators were absent on the first day of the evaluation of answer papers of the SSLC examinations,  which concluded on April 12.

The evaluation began on Thursday and is being carried out in 225 centres across Karnataka. The Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board  has issued a circular instructing evaluators to be present for duty at their assigned centres by 9.30 am on Friday. It says evaluators were issued work orders well in advance and warns them that if they fail to turn up for duty, action will be taken against them under the Karnataka Education Act and Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board Act.
