One section of the flyover, being built at Doddanekkundi Junction, was thrown open to the public on Friday.

The flyover is being built by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) on the Marathahalli-Mahadevapura stretch of the Outer Ring Road, one of the major bottlenecks in the city. To ease traffic woes, the BDA started flyover construction work in June 2015.

According to the BDA officials, the work on the other section of the flyover is 50% complete and by October 31, the Rs 44-crore project would be ready.

Bengaluru Development Minister K J George opened the flyover for the public. He also laid the foundation stone for civic works worth Rs  205 crore in the Mahadevapura Assembly constituency. The works include road widening, asphalting, upgrading of drainage network, flyover construction at Varthur Kodi among others.
