Saplings destroyed in fire

The Nilgiri trees had been grown long back in the forest here. Some of the saplings were growing from the roots of the trees cut. However, due to the fire in the forest, these saplings have been destroyed.

It is quite common for the miscreants to set fire to the plants and trees near the roads. Such a fire must have spread to the forest and wiped out the saplings. Some of them also set fire to get firewood and even incidents like these might result in such accidents, it is said.

When compared to the previous years, more numbers of plants and trees on the roadside have been destroyed. Due to such fire there are incidents of fruit bearing mango trees also being burnt.
