The call of adventure

My perfect weekend
Last Updated 27 April 2017, 18:38 IST

Since my profession is one which does not include a 9 to 5 job, my weekends are usually pretty unplanned. If I am not working, honestly everyday feels like a weekend.

I don’t spend my off days partying as I am not a party person. However, I play a lot of cricket and other sports. So about 15 to 20 of us from the industry get together and play a game or two for long hours during weekends. I also make it a point to watch  movies at night in the theatre.

My weekends include friends coming over to my place or me going over to theirs for small get-togethers. We often go out for dinners and have meaningful conversations and catch up on each other’s lives.

I love travelling so I make sure that I take a break and go on a trip or two every month. These trips can be to any place outside Maharashtra.

So it can be anything from a journey abroad to a trip to Delhi, Chhattisgarh or the South for that matter. It is better to travel during the weekends as my friends or the people I am going to meet are free only at that time. I mostly love travelling to hill stations and Manali and Himachal Pradesh are some of the places I enjoy visiting.

Also I recently shot for a film in Chandigarh and fell in love with that place and I keep going there too. Bengaluru is yet another place I visit often as I have a couple of friends here and we chill out during weekends.

I am particular about my fitness and thus working out is something that I thoroughly enjoy. Saturday is when I usually hit the gym while  Sunday is for rest.

But along with following a fitness regime, I also love to pamper the foodie in me. I enjoy exploring new restaurants and experiment with my palate rather than going for regular stuff like butter chicken because that is safest option of all. But I avoid cooking by myself.

For me a perfect weekend is all about relaxation; it should make up for the entire hectic week. This can include going for a massage, playing any kind of sport and visiting my parents twice a month. They stay in my hometown Pune and a trip there is always relaxing. I have a lot of college friends there and it’s always good to be around them and spend quality time with them. Although I have friends in Mumbai too, Pune is home after all.

Though he started his career as a model, Parth Samthaan soon climbed up the ladder in the acting industry with television shows like ‘Best Friends Forever?’, ‘Gumrah: End of Innocence’, ‘MTV Webbed’ and ‘Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya’. He rose to fame by essaying the role of Manik Malhotra in the popular youth show ‘Kaisi yeh Yaariyan’. Apart from his acting abilities, his flair for singing has also garnered him a huge fan base with his recently released music video ‘Tu Jo Kahe’. Parth will soon be seen making his
Bollywood debut with the movie ‘Googly Ho Gayi’.
