<p>The Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi University (DU), Jamia Milia Islamia (JMI) and the Indian Institute of Technology-Delhi will soon dedicate a wall on their campuses to showcase portraits and stories of war heroes decorated with the Param Vir Chakra.<br /><br />A large number of other universities and higher educational institutions, including those run by the central government, will also follow suit.<br /><br />On Tuesday, HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar will launch a nationwide campaign titled the ‘Vidya, Veerta Abhiyan’. Minister of State for Defence Subhash Bhamre will share the dais with Javadekar.<br /><br />“The move aims to instill patriotism in students,” official sources said.<br /><br />Javadekar will present the first set of portraits, of 21 war heroes decorated with the Param Vir Chakra, to the vice chancellors of JNU, DU and JMI during the launch.<br /><br />Under the campaign, every higher educational institution will be encouraged to create a ‘Wall of Heroes’ on its campus.<br />DH News Service</p>
