Delhi Daredevils’ six-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has lifted the morale of the entire team, says seasoned leg-spinner Amit Mishra.

Ending a five-match losing streak, Delhi Daredevils chased down Sunrisers Hyderabad’s 186-run target in 19.1 overs on Tuesday. The top order which has often been criticised stood up to the task and played freely to keep the pressure on SRH.

“In the past few matches our batting was not clicking. In this match, batting wise we did well. Bowling has been our strength throughout the tournament. And today our batsmen also contributed. I want to give credit to the full team for the success,” said Mishra.

With five matches still to go, Mishra believes the team can still qualify for playoffs. Though it would mean that they have to win all their matches from here.

“We are taking match by match. We are very positive going into the next matches. We have got a very good team. If we can win our next five matches, we can qualify” he said.

Daredevils play four more matches at home and that is where the hosts can step up. Mishra feels fielding is one area which they need to improve on. Against SRH, Sanju Samson dropped Yuvraj Singh when he was on 29 runs which proved costly. Yuvraj’s unbeaten 70 guided SRH to 185/3.

“Today we made several fielding lapses. We need to be very careful in this area but we are doing a lot of things," Mishra said.
