Prof on run over question paper row

Thousands of people under the aegis of various Muslim organisations had taken to the streets in protest against the second semester degree examination (Malayalam language) question paper. One of the questions allegedly defamed the Prophet. The protesters had resorted to stone-throwing at Thodupuzha town and forced shops to down shutters following which police resorted to a minor lathicharge.

Police say they are yet to find Prof T J Joseph who reportedly framed the question and later went into hiding following the outbreak of violence. Education Minister M A Baby said he suspected the question was even part of a conspiracy to intentionally bring disrepute to the LDF government.
