Cesc tops ICRA rating in state, 6th in nation

The Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (Cesc), headquartered in Mysuru, has been ranked first in the state and sixth in the nation for 2015-16 in the Investment Information Credit Rating Agency (ICRA) ratings, released recently.

The Union Energy Ministry audits various aspects of power generation and distribution companies across the nation by various expert agencies.

Different aspects such as reduction in technical and commercial losses, targets achieved in purchase of power generated from renewable energy sources, demand for funds from various agencies including state government, progress in recovery of revenues, achievement in meeting deadlines for submission of annual accounts reports, etc are audited.

Cesc had stood in the 19th place at the national-level and 3rd in the state in 2013-14. It had bettered its performance in 2014-15 by reaching the eighth place at the national-level and retaining the third place at the state-level.
