<div align="justify">Stating that a change of guard would not help in restoring normalcy in Kashmir, Opposition National Conference (NC) chief Farooq Abdullah on Thursday pitched for governor’s rule.<br /><br />“Changing horses midway won’t help. The government has become unpopular and has lost the faith and support of the people, as was seen a couple of days ago when women stormed out of a government function raising slogans,” the former Union minister told reporters here.<br /><br />Amid speculation that the BJP wants to replace Mehbooba Mufti with someone from within the party, Abdullah said, “Such a step would not help restore peace in the Valley as the alliance (PDP-BJP) in its entirety has failed.”<br /><br />Abdullah said the imposition of governor’s rule is not an ideal solution. “But in the present circumstances it is the only plausible option”, the NC chief added.<br /><br /></div>
