A complaint and a counter complaint were filed with the Nandini Layout police on Friday over a fight between two groups after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah laid the foundation stone for a project at Laggere.

In a complaint, Manjula Narayanswamy, a JD(S) corporator from BBMP’s Laggere ward claimed that a few miscreants tried to attack her and abused her in foul language.

MLA Munirathna had instigated two nominated members Sunandamma and Lakshmi and his supporters to attack her, she said in the complaint seeking action against them.

Minutes after she lodged the complaint, Sunandamma turned up at the police station claiming that Manjula and her supporters assaulted her.

“Manjula and her supporters raised slogans against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah after he left the venue. They misbehaved with me when I questioned their act,” she stated in the complaint.

“We are yet to question the two as Manjula is being treated at Srinivas Hospital at Rajagopalnagar, while Sunandamma and Lakshmi are in K C General Hospital,” said a police officer.

Cases booked

The police have booked cases under IPC Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 354 (criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty).
