<p>YFA Jaraganahalli and Jyothi SC registered impressive wins to progress to the second round of the inaugural Red Bull Tashan kabaddi tournament here.<br /><br />Jaraganahalli survived a late scare to beat Kashi Vishwanath 25-22 in an intense encounter after Jyothi had claimed a hard-fought 37-32 win over YFA Hebbal in their qualifying matches.<br /><br />A total of 34 matches were held on Wednesday. Jaraganahalli and Jyothi were among the 17 teams that advanced to the next stage after round one of the qualifiers.<br /><br />Jaraganahalli, on the back of good performances from Raja and Manoj P, took a healthy 14-7 lead at the break and were cruising to victory. <br /><br />But Kashi staged a superb comeback in the second period to cut the lead to 18-17. <br /><br />They then went ahead 20-19. Raja, however, came out with a fine effort late in the game to put his team ahead 22-20. <br /><br />There was no turning back from that point as Jaraganahalli maintained their composure to claim a 25-22 win.<br />Earlier, Jyothi started well and went ahead 19-11 at the end of the first half but Hebbal fought back in the second period, outscoring their opponents 21-19 but it wasn’t enough as Jyothi held on to claim the game 37-32.<br /><br />Sanju and Lokesh were the star performers for Jyothi while Niranjan and Ajay did well for Hebbal.</p>
