Last Updated 26 May 2017, 18:09 IST

MLA K G Bopaiah said farmers and general public are suffering because of two highly corrupt officials in the district.

At the taluk-level executive meeting of BJP organised at Bal Bhavan here, he said no work is being done properly in revenue department. The DC’s office has become a place of corrupt officials. Two officials are demanding money from the people, he charged.

“An officer has been torturing farmers in Jamma land issue. Though during the tenure of Anurag Tewari, the official was transferred, he is back now. Another official has been providing documents, after receiving money. I am ready to expose the name of the officials anywhere,” he said and felt for a need to conduct a people’s movement against corruption.

A protest will be held at DC’s office on June 2 as a mark of protest, Bopaiah said.

He said the party workers should forget their differences and be ready to face the challenges. There should no room for discrimination in the party and the differences should be sorted out within the party. All elected representatives should work for 15 days for the party, he added.

The selection of candidates for the Legislative Assembly will be done by the party high command, he said and expressed confidence about the selection of able candidates.

The NDA-led Union government has completed three successful years in office and the party workers will celebrate the occasion at 300 places across the country.

The state government is in Number 1 in corruption, he charged. Bopaiah called upon the elected representatives from BJP to give away LPG subsidies.
BJP state secretary Manu Muttappa warned of initiating action against those are claiming that they are the candidates for the upcoming Assembly election. Zilla Panchayat president B A Harish and Taluk Panchayat president Tekkade Shobha were present.
