The students of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) staged a protest at Mysore Bank Circle on Tuesday against the hike in examination fees, delayed announcement of revaluation results and final semester students not getting breaks between subject papers.

Ravinandan B B, vice president of All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO), said, “The results for the last semester just came out two days ago and there is no time to apply for revaluation as the semester exams start in a week. So the university has asked us to pay the revaluation fees as well as pay fees for the last semester and write it again, if there is delay in the revaluation results.”

“The examination fees last semester was Rs 530 and this semester it is Rs 1,350, which is almost a 150% increase,” Ravinandan said.
