It is an ordinary looking, small eatery on the main road which shells out some yummy rolls at very reasonable prices.
True to their name, they are best known for their grilled chicken and other ‘kati’ rolls that are filling and delicious.
They prepare the rolls on order, which is a bonus, as you get piping hot, succulent chicken in warm crispy Kerala ‘parotas’.
The place is a favourite among students from all the neighbouring schools of Indiranagar.
Though the place has no sitting area and tends to get quite crowded during lunch and evening hours, the demand for their food has been consistent over the years.
A group of four to five people work in the kitchen to dish out hot food.
You can see the kitchen through the glass panes from the billing counter and will not be disappointed with the basic hygiene that is observed inside.
Their menu mainly consists of North Indian and Chinese items, and of course, the all-time favourite ‘shawarmas’ too, though the latter may not be the best in town.
Regular patrons of the joint vouch for their chicken, egg and veg rolls that are quite large and flavourful, and come neatly wrapped in butterpaper making it easy to eat with minimal mess.
The well-cooked rice, coated with a good amount of spicy and tangy ‘masala’, and generous chunks of juicy chicken in the ‘Chicken biryani’ are what entice customers to go for it. They also serve veg and egg biryani.
As for vegetarians, their first pick here is usually the ‘Paneer roll’. Starters like ‘Paneer chilli, ‘Babycorn pepper dry’ and ‘Paneer tikka’ are quite tasty.
Since they deal with a lot of hungry students post classes between 3 pm to 5 pm, they are quite swift with their service. They do not serve any beverages apart from soft drinks, but then what better than a chilled Coke with a spicy chicken roll?
‘Cafe Grill’ makes for a good fast food joint if you aren’t in the mood for homecooked food and want to indulge in some delicious snacking.
