The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) will hold a meeting on June 15 to settle the dispute between the producer of Raju Kannada Medium and the movie’s leading lady, Avantika Shetty.

KFCC president Sa Ra Govindu has called a meeting of the film’s producer, K A Suresh, and the director Naresh Kumar H N with Avantika. The actor has obtained a stay order from the court on the film’s release, saying she hasn’t been paid her dues. Suresh then approached the KFCC to settle the matter out of court to ensure a smooth release for the film.

In the petition with the KFCC, he said: “Avantika didn’t cooperate with the film’s crew for the shooting. She often came late to the sets and made baseless allegations against the producer on social media, affecting the film’s prospects. Considering her non-cooperation, we decided to drop her from the project.” The producer said Avantika had signed for 40 days of shooting but completed only 15 days. There are three female protagonists in the film and the director has decided to alter the story after dropping Avantika from the project.

Avantika tweeted that she was “unceremoniously asked” to leave the film citing her “average performance after she asked them about a bounced cheque. She, however, said she would attend the meeting.
