Rahul Gandhi violates traffic rules on his way to Mandsaur?

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi who travelled for a few kilometres as a pillon rider on a motorcycle from Nimbaheda in Chittorgarh district on his way to the Madhya Pradesh border is said to have violated traffic rules.

Rajasthan police is examining the issue after people on social media started posting photographs in which he is seen not wearing a helmet.

Both Rahul Gandhi and Congress youth leader Dheeraj Gujjar, also the sitting MLA from Bhilwara District of Rajasthan, are seen without helmets in the pictures.

Emphasizing wearing of helmet as a compulsory traffic rule for pilion rider in Rajasthan, Superintendent of Police, Chittorgarh, Prasanna Khamesra said “Gandhi had travelled a few kilometres as a pillon rider on a motorcycle from Nimbaheda up to the Madhya Pradesh border. Even for a pilion rider in Rajasthan to wear helmet is a must, we will look into the traffic violations.”

According IG Udaipur Anand Srivastava, “Rahul Gandhi reached Udaipur around 8:30 AM in a chartered plane and left for Madhya Pradesh in a four wheeler. In Nimaheda town of Chittorgarh district, he rode pillion for 5-7 km and reached close to the border. Gandhi then walked for close to 100 metres before entering Madhya Pradesh from Dalia village in Rajasthan's Chittorgarh district.”

Gandhi was accompanied by PCC Rajasthan chief Sachin Pilot, leader of opposition Rameshwar Dudi, Girija Vyas and others. Almost 2,000 congress supporters and nearly 150 vehicles accompanied Gandhi on his trip.
