Gowda writes to PM, Guv on State affairs

He has appealed to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and governor H R Bhardwaj to take up constitutional measures to bring in normalcy.

Gowda has written letters to both the PM and Governor. The copies of the letters were released to media in a press conference in Bangalore. Referring to attack on mine owner Tapal Ganesh in Bellary, Gowda alleged that the State Government headed by Yeddyurappa had been dancing to the tunes of Reddy brothers of Bellary. The government had no control over them. The brothers had been misusing the official machinery to their selfish ends, he alleged.

Gowda, in his letters, said the government had not acted upon the Karnataka Lokayukta report on illegal mining in Karnataka-Andhra Pradesh boundary. The official machinery in Bellary had collapsed completely, while the government had remained mute spectator to the developments in the district. “The situation in the State warrants intervention of the governor”, he said.
