The police have arrested five persons on the charge of assaulting three men who were engaged in slaughtering a cattle at a house in Pajeer Adka in Konaje police station limits on Saturday night.

The arrested are Shan Kumar, Mohan, Hariprasad, Purandar and Sachin.
A complaint was registered with the Konaje police against Mansoor (28), Irshad (17) and Aslam alias Salam (38) for slaughtering cow illegally. Countering the complaint, the trio alleged that a gang had assaulted them.

They said that Jocki D’Souza had sold the cattle to them and asked them to slaughter it in his house itself. While they were slaughtering the cattle at D’Souza’s house, some people assaulted them.

The members of an organisation, in their complaint with the Konaje police, had said that the trio were involved in illegal slaughter of cattle. When some members of the organisation visited the spot, Aslam attempted to flee, fell into a pit and suffered injuries. The members insisted that they had not assaulted the trio. The injured are recuperating in a hospital at Deralakatte.
