20 kids injured as tree got uprooted during morning prayers

 At least 20 kids were injured in a school at Poladpur in Raigad district when a tree uprooted because of rains and winds and fell on them during the morning assembly on Wednesday.

The incident took place inside the compound of the  Vardayani Secondary School at Kapde-Burke village, reports reaching here said.

The entire Konkan coast including Mumbai has been receiving good rainfall since the last weekend.

In Mumbai also, rains continued and services of both Central Railway and Western Railway reported minor delays. There was water-logging in some parts of central Mumbai in the morning.

Meanwhile, the Regional Meteorological Observatory in Mumbai and Skymet Weather had forecast similar weather conditions for the next few days.

Southwest Monsoon has been vigorous over Maharashtra, leading to heavy to very heavy rains over the several cities.
