Right wing organisations have planned a protest at Lalbagh Circle here on July 2 in protest against the Iftar party hosted by Paryaya Pejawar Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swami at Sri Krishna temple premises.

Dharmendra, state unit spokesperson, Karnataka Pradesh Hindu Mahasabha, said that this shows the double standards of the seer and also BJP leaders who had
once condemned the similar move by former union minister B Janardhana Poojary.

Poojary had hosted Iftar party for Muslims on Kudroli Sree Gokarnanatha Temple premises.

It is high time the seer abdicates the Peetha and also name a pontiff, besides tendering an apology, Dharmendra demanded.

The Muslims too should display similar bonhomie and allow Hindus to perform Bhajan at mosques, Dharmendra demanded.

Praveen Valke, state unit general secretary of Sri Rama Sene, said that it is the same seer and several other leaders who sowed the seeds of poison in the minds of youth against another community.

Now, they are singing a different tune for their selfish gains, he charged.

Ayodhya issue

He said that the Hindus and the Muslims were living in harmony till Ayodhya issue broke out, thanks to the leaders who indoctrinated the minds of innocent youths against Muslim.

The youths discontinued their education and ended up with measly paying jobs, eking out their living as plumbers, autorickshaw drivers to name a few, he claimed.

Valke also clarified that the organisation is never against Muslims and also
had plans to host Iftar. However, the seer went on his own, without consulting the rank and file of the organisations who blindly followed him, he said.

He demanded that the other community leaders to show generosity by allowing Hindus to render Hanuman Chalisa at mosques.
