A software engineer has been arrested for creating a fake Twitter account in the name of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and tweeting on behalf of the chief minister.

The suspect is Madhusudan, a software engineer from Mandya. A special team from cybercrime police station of the CID traced him on Friday evening. During questioning, he revealed that he had created the fake Twitter account —@cmofkarnatka) and had tweeted. The suspect later renamed it as @nanegadappa and also removed identifiables from the account. The police are questioning the suspect and refused to divulge further details.
