Nepotism & Bollywood

The topic of nepotism is quite a hot topic in Bollywood right now! In fact, at the recent IIFA Awards, the hosts Karan Johar and Saif Ali Khan took potshots on the same. Ranbir Kapoor is the latest celebrity to join the debate. In an interview, he said, "It exists in the film industry, and I am a product of nepotism. I am here today because of my parents. My father got an opportunity because of his father. So, I believe if my children choose to be actors, I would like to give them a platform. If they want to be doctors I will provide them with the education and the backing. Films have been our family business for the past 85 years. Yes, it is unfair to a lot of people who are way more talented than us, but we do get opportunities, and we do get the attention."

Stepping into the world of films

Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's daughter Sara Ali Khan is all set to make her debut in 'Kedarnath' opposite Sushant Singh Rajput. The movie, directed by Abhishek Kapoor, is touted to be a love story set in the course of a pilgrimage in the hilly terrains of Kedarnath. Speaking about the film, producer Ekta Kapoor said, "It's Sara's debut opposite Sushant. That makes it a fresh pair and adds an edge to the project. Kedarnath is an emotional and riveting tale that blends India's beauty with a love story from the heartland."

Prabhas gets emotional

Recently, the first movie in the Bahubali series marked the completion of two years after its release. Prabhas, who played an important character in the movie, shared an emotional post on Facebook. It said, "Today marks the completion of two years to the release of a very special film of mine, Baahubali: The Beginning.

I feel a deep sense of nostalgia and I have been reminiscing the early days when the entire team was working on this film with so much passion. I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to all my fans who don't leave any chance to make me feel so loved and special. Congratulations to the entire Baahubali team for this day, especially the man behind all of it, SS Rajamouli. We owe it all to you."
