Students urge administration to appoint lecturers

Last Updated 03 August 2017, 17:26 IST

The students of Government First Grade College staged a protest in the college premises in Madikeri on Wednesday and urged to appoint lecturers.

They said that the classes are not being conducted on a regular basis as there are no sufficient teachers. As a result, their education has been adversely affected.

The appointment of guest lecturers is not done even after two months of commencement of the current academic year. If the syllabus is not covered, the students cannot write the examinations successfully, they said.

The government should immediately appoint the lecturers or else, the students’ future will be ruined, they urged.

College principal Chitra said the problem has been brought to the notice of the department.
The problem of guest lecturers has arisen as the contract period of the lecturers has been lapsed. The necessary action will be taken soon after receiving the order for appointment process, she assured.
