The Thalaghattapura police have claimed to have solved a murder case by arresting three people on Sunday.

The suspects are Zabihullah (37), a resident of Harinagar in JP Nagar 8th Phase, Tanvir Pasha (28) of Kothanur Main Road and Naveen (27) of Anjanapura.

The police have seized a car and lethal weapons used for committing the murder. The fourth suspect in the case Praveen is still at large.

The suspects reportedly had hacked K M Rahamatullah, a resident of  Avalahalli, on August 4, over a financial matter, said the police.

About a week ago, Zabihullah had parked his car in front of his brother’s scrap store at Harinagar.

An inebriated Rahamatullah had smashed the car’s windshield and doors. Following the incident, there was a fight between Rahamatullah and Zabihullah the next day. Elders at Harinagar had intervened and struck a compromise between the two and had directed Rahamatullah to pay for the damage.

Zabihullah met Rahamatullah at the latter's house and demanded money, but Rahamatullah refused to pay him.

Zabihullah returned home and plotted Rahamatullah's murder. He conspired with his associates Tanvir Pasha, Naveen and Praveen and decided to murder Rahamatullah.
Rahamatullah hosted a party for his friends on the occasion of his birthday on August 4. The suspects went to a hall on BDA Road, Avalahalli, 9th Phase, 2nd Block, JP Nagar where Rahamatullah and his friends were partying.

They attacked Rahamatullah with lethal weapons and escaped.

Based on a complaint, the police registered a case and launched a search operation to trace the suspects.

The police acted on a tip-off and arrested the trio at Gottigere near NICE Road junction on Bannerghatta Road.
