Anti- Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Thursday arrested a cooperative development officer on the charge of corruption.
The arrested, Sadashiva, works in the office of deputy registrar of co-operative societies (South) in Chamarajpet, Bengaluru. The complainant is an advocate who had approached the office in connection with registration of an apartment owners' association.
The officer demanded a bribe of Rs 7,500 to register the association. The ACB sleuths laid a trap and arrested Sadashiva red-handed accepting the bribe, ACB sources said.
