It was Sagar K and his wife Mahitha’s quest for a place that served healthy food that led them to start ‘RawStraw’. Tucked in the cosy green street of Kalyan Nagar, this place is just a month old but that has not stopped it from attracting foodies from across the city.

‘RawStraw’ is fast becoming the new favourite hangout spot for youngsters.
The cafe welcomes one with an abundance of greenery. The yellow and white interiors are spacious and well-lit and perfectly complement the lighting. Overall one experiences a warm and earthy vibe as soon as they step in.

The creative effort put into the cafe is clearly reflected through the graffiti bedecked wall, the handmade frames and racks filled with books and board games.

The soothing music adds to the experience.

Coming to the food, the menu is divided into ‘all-day breakfast’, ‘salads’, ‘short eats’, ‘hearty eats’, ‘desserts’ and beverages. It also has a dessert section with vegan options. With a menu so elaborate, one is sure to be spoilt for choice.

Starting your meal with a few quick bites is an ideal way. ‘Quinoa crusted spiced tofu’ or the ‘Pita and falafel sandwich’ will be a good option. You can also go for the ‘Dips platter’.

Take little bites as you wouldn’t want to miss out on the other sections of the menu.
If you are a salad fan, the ‘Potato and egg salad’ is a must try. It is unique in its taste and will be a treat for your tastebuds. You can also try the ‘Falafel salad with roasted beetroot’, which is one of their popular items. The ‘Grilled teriyaki tofu salad’ can also be an ideal option.

For the main course, ‘Shakshuka’, which is a Mediterranean specialty with Indian spices and is served with pav, will be an ideal choice. It is filling and the flavour of the spices tend to linger in the mouth for long. The ‘Thai style coconut curry soup’ can also be the apt solution for your hunger pangs.

If you are visiting the cafe for breakfast, you must try the ‘Breakfast platter’. It is quite filling and is among their fastest moving items.

The staff is very efficient and thorough with the menu, they might sometimes even recommend you to try a few dishes.

Try out their ‘Brownie’ or the ‘Blueberry cheesecake’ and your sweet tooth will thank you for that.

They also have a wide option of healthy drinks like ‘Antioxidant’ or the ‘Detox’ juice.
