Family Entertainer

One character, two shades

Hopeful: V Nagendra Prasad, Prajwal Devaraj and Srinivas Raju at the press meet.

After all the impediments, Nannavanu starring Prajwal Devaraj and Aindrita Ray, is all set to release on April 16. With Prajwal playing a young lawyer, the film also has a romantic track to pull in young audiences to the theatres. Director Srinivas Raju has high expectations from the film and asserts that he has given a family entertainer this summer.

“Though the release has been delayed, the movie does not look outdated in any way. The story of this movie was written about fifteen years ago, when I was in the final year of my engineering course. To suit the current scenario, I have carried out all the necessary changes. Everyone is asking me the reason for its late release. It is because the producer was out of the country for business purposes. So I had put it on hold as the process requires financial assistance,” says Srinivas.

One thing that he kept confidential about the film is Prajwal’s character. “Now what I can reveal to you is that his character has two shades. The one that is portrayed in the posters is of a romantic playboy and to know the second shade, one has to visit the theatre,” he gushes.

Prajwal Devaraj, who is on a low profile these days, following the failure of his recent films at the box office is expecting a lot from Nannavanu. “It was a perfect movie and a perfect team to work with. Srinivas sir is very understanding and has a unique way of film-making. The film can be called as a romantic thriller but is rich in comedy as well. People will groove to the tunes of Ilayaraja which are trendy and energetic,” he said.
V Nagendra Prasad has penned down the lyrics of all the songs composed by legendary musician Ilayaraja.

“I had not thought of working with Ilayaraja this early in my career. It is an honour for every lyricist to work with such a great composer,” said Nagendra. The female lead of this movie, Aindrita, and the producer were absent at the press meet.
