<p>In response to the story appeared in City Herald of Deccan Herald in its March 27 edition, the National Mission on Monument and Antiquities (NMMA) Kerala State Co-ordinator Dr S Hemachandra has decided to submit a report to the government on the pathetic condition of the fort. Hemachandra told Deccan Herald that a survey will be conducted at the fort spread across five acres and a report will be submitted to the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) soon. If the department takes initiative, the fort can be renovated and can be preserved as a historical monument, he said and appealed the general public to furnish information on such neglected forts to NMMA. <br /><br />The Adka fort is situated on the banks of Shiriya river in Mangalpadi Gram Panchayat. The fort, which has trenches and other resources, has been encroached partially by private individuals. <br /><br /></p>
