The Tourism Department and Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) have partnered to launch the Dasara Special Package on board the Golden Chariot to promote the festival.

The special trip of two nights and one day will be offered on September 23 and 29. Tickets will be priced at Rs 25,000 for Indians and Rs 40,000 for foreigners. The train will depart from Yeshwantpur railway station. A total of 88 passengers can be accommodated in each trip.

This is the second consecutive year where short haul trips are offered on the state’s own luxury express. KSTDC has planned curated royal walks for guests to explore the heritage of Mysuru. The guests will also be given a golden pass to experience the Dasara cultural programmes held in front of the Mysuru Palace.

Tourism Minister Priyank Kharge said this is a unique opportunity for people to experience the luxury of the train and the festival at subsidised rates.
