Challengers win royally

On a night when their bowlers – led by R Vinay Kumar (3/23) –  did splendidly to restrict the opposition to 160, the hosts’ batsmen too joined the party to achieve the target in just 17.1 overs at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Rahul Dravid led the chase with a sparkling 52 off 35 balls but it was Robin Uthappa who brought the crowd to its feet, contributing an unbeaten 50 off a mere 22 balls. With 12 points from 11 matches, Bangalore are now placed second.
