Thermal plant to get facelift

Addressing mediapersons on Saturday night at Raichur, he said there are no serious problems at RTPS. However, there were some small technical problems, which had been set right now.

The coal supplied to RTPS is of good quality, there is no need of washing the same, he said.  Due to poor quality of coal supplied earlier, the Government had to suffer a financial burden of Rs 5,000 crore. But there is no such problem now, he said.  There is sufficient stock of coal at RTPS, he said and added that construction of houses for 50 per cent of flood victims will be completed by January.

Irrigation minister Basavaraja Bommai said tenders will be called for repair of the Tungabhadra Left Bank Colony shortly. To supervise the quality of work of the canal a professional agency will be appointed.
