House listing from April 15 to May 31 in C'ballapur

As many as 1,777 enumerators and 300 supervisors are being trained to carry out Census operations at the three-day training programme in Chikkaballapur.
Speaking on the second day of the programme here on Sunday district nodal officer Anbanandan said, the Union government has merged National Population Registrar work with the Census operations this year and hence the details, photos and thumb impression of each individual aged above 15, in the rural areas will be collected.
As part of the NPR, each person will be given an identity card which would comprise all the details pertaining to them and this is aimed at strengthening the security of the nation, he added.

Co-operation
He appealed to the officers and the public to co-operate in carrying out the Census successfully as the enumeration of the population will help the Government ensure that its various schemes and services reach the due beneficiaries.
He said, though the second phase of the Census 2011 including headcount will be held between February 9 and 28, houselisting is also important in order to gather information on living conditions of the public and to take steps for better living conditions in future.

He said, the district has been divided into 2,961 blocks with 650 to 700 persons in each block, for the Census operations.Tahsildar Poornima said Chikkaballapur taluk has been further divided into Nandi, Kasaba and Mandikal divisions each comprising 220 blocks. As many as 412 enumerators and 37 supervisors will carry out the houselisting work, she said. Assistant nodal officer Muddukumar, chief resource persons V Manjunath and Chandrappa were present on the occasion.
