The state Congress is launching “Mane Manege Congress” campaign on September 23 at Mahadevapura in Bengaluru with a view to reaching out to people ahead of the Assembly elections due early next year.

AICC general secretary in-charge of Karnataka K C Venegopal is scheduled to inaugurate the campaign. Booth-level Congress workers will educate people on the achievements of the party government in the state and ‘failures’ of the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre as part of the campaign. The party has already formed booth-level committees for this purpose.

Designed to counter the BJP’s Vistaarak campaign wherein the saffron party workers are conducting door-to-door campaign, the Congress has planned to transform itself into a cadre-based party by setting up booth-level committees. The party is creating a database of its workers from booth level to national level. The Congress high command is learnt to have decided to form booth-level committees across the country.
