Two silver oak trees uprooted

Two silver oak trees were uprooted at 11th Cross in Nagendra Block of Girinagar on Thursday.

Though the trees fell on a house, no one was hurt in the incident.

“The soil near the tree became loose after the heavy rain that the city received over the past few days. The trees were uprooted in the strong breeze in the afternoon,” said Satheesh, a local resident.

“The roof has been completely damaged and fortunately the children who were playing near the tree escaped unhurt. But some household articles and cables were damaged,” he said.

Forest officials of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) have cleared the tree.
