<p>“Rally for Rivers”, spearheaded by spiritual leader Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev entered Rajasthan and received a colourful welcome in Jaipur.<br /><br />The rally took a pause for a public ceremony scheduled at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre in Jaipur on Thursday. Both Sadguru and Chief Minister, Vasundhara Raje flagged it off.<br /><br />Raje said, "We are dedicated to the cause of rivers and through Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Abhiyan and the ongoing Dravyavati riverfront project at Jaipur is a sparkling example of the state’s determination for restoring its natural water bodies and rivers." Raje said, informing Sadhguru about the four-year water conservation program for 21,000 villages.<br /><br />Earlier Sadhguru wearing a red bandhej, a traditional Rajasthani turban said, "I urge the people of Rajasthan to join their government in their remarkable efforts to preserve the water resources of Rajasthan".<br /><br />To compliment his Rajasthani attire, he tweeted, “Be a Rajasthani when in Rajasthan, not a Raja but a Rajasthani."<br /><br />Apart from Raje, Minister of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Rajendra Singh Rathore; Maharaja Gaj Singh of Jodhpur; Chairperson of River Basin and Water Resources Planning Authority, Shriram Vedire participated in a large-scale public awareness event at the Jaipur Exhibition & Convention Center organised by Isha Foundation.<br /><br />The spiritual leader is driving himself all the way from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, and crossed several cities and states to reach Jaipur. The 30-day rally will conclude on October 2 in New Delhi.</p>
