JOIN USDept awaits HC order to file chargesheet
Talking to a section of the media here on Thursday, Jayaramaraje Urs said that four criminal cases have been filed against the previous president of the academy, who had got bail from the court.
The department will prepare the charge sheet only after the court gives its verdict in the case, he said.
“Fine can be imposed on the officials and the non-officials for involving in the alleged collection of money through lottery tickets.
Besides, the Audit department has found certain objections during auditing, and hence, show-cause notice will also be issued to some officials and non-officials. If they fail to answer in time, disciplinary actions will be taken against them,” Urs warned.
Presidents of some academies have already met the Chief Minister and have demanded separate buildings for them. In this backdrop, more funds are expected, he said.
The government has earmarked Rs 22 lakh grant each to all academies this year. The government is releasing money for them much in advance from the last year, he added.
He said the City Municipal Council had consented the construction of Suvarna Samskrutika Bhavan in the place of Cauvery Kalakshetra, however he would ask the department Assistant Director to submit a report since the land required has not yet been handed over to them.
Urs asked Assistant Director Damodar to take steps to conduct Jilla Utsav and Gadi Utsava in time. He also asked the official to locate sufficient land for Gadi Bhavan in Virajpet.
