Indian Army Recruitment rally flagged off

Deputy Commissioner R Venkatesh Kumar flagged off the Indian Army Recruitment Rally-2017 at Chandrashekar Patil Stadium here, on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, Kumar said District administration had provided all necessary facilities to the youth from the Hyderabad Karnataka region to participate in the rally.

“The accommodation for the youth taking part in the rally has been provided at Banjara Bhavan. Hence, none of them should stay in any other accommodations.” Kumar wished that this time more number of youth from the region should be selected to the army.

The youths who had arrived from North Karnataka districts like Belagavi, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Koppal , Raichur and Yadgir were divided into two groups for running race. Those who successfully completed the run in the stipulated time were then selected for long jump (9 ft), zig zag balance and Bheem (push up).

Youths who are interested to join army should have good and healthy physique. That is the reason physical test is conducted, said Belagavi Army Recruitment office Recruiting Director Sengol Santhanam.

Candidates who pass the physical test, are then subjected to medical test. No one is failed during this test. In case of any problem, the candidate is sent to medical centres at Bengaluru, Belagavi and Hubballi for further check up. A candidate’s educational certificates are verified and a written test will be conducted, post which he would be recruited to the army, he added.

Barring tribals, youths who don’t sport a tattoo will be recruited. Those who have tattoo will not be recruitment. Belagavi Army Recruitment office Deputy Director A B Bhajantri and Ambarao and others were present.

The rally for recruitment into Soldier General Duty, Soldier Clerk/SKT, Soldier Tradesman, Soldier NursingAssistant and Soldier Technical will be held till October 14. As many as 500 youth from Kalaburagi district and 400 from Koppal took part in the rally on Thursday.
